Picacho Peak Civil War Battle Re-Enactment

This year I attended the Civil War Battle Re-Encactments at Picacho Peak (AZ). There were three battles re-enacted including the battle that occurred at Picacho.

As you can see, they take this rather seriously!

The B Troop, 4th U.S. Calvary (Memorial) did a calvary demonstration for the crowd. B troop is out of Fort Huachuca and honros the unit that served at Fort Huachuca during the 1880s. The unit is all volunteers, except for the Horses, which are owned by the US Army.

Yes, they even had a photographer :-) . He was using an old wet plate camera and did some really nice period photos. The different look of the above photograph is because it was taken with an infrared modified camera.
This is a great event. If you get the chance next March, you may want to check it out!
