Picacho Poppies

I went to Picacho this Saturday because I heard a rumor that the Poppies were in bloom.

Heard on the news last night that this is the best year for wildflowers in Arizona in the past ten years.
Saguaro casting a shadow on the field of poppies.
Love the look of the Poppies next to the Saguaro skeleton.
This was a poppy that was growing next to a downed Saguaro.
Fields and fields of poppies. Here they are before they open up. Usually on a clear day they open around 10AM.
Another by a Saguaro skeleton.

A mix of the poppies and other wildflowers.

They are having a great bloom at Picacho. If you get the chance, I recommend that you make a visit. They should remain in bloom unless we get a freeze or if we get a number of really hot days. Get up there before they are gone!
